A very brief Biography

Sorita d’Este is an author whose books explores mythology, magic and ancient spiritual traditions. She is a practitioner of magic, and an occult teacher who has lectured and presented workshops internationally. Following psychic experiences as a child living in Cape Town, South Africa, she proceeded to explore esoteric teachings available to her ever since.

Over the last 30 years, she has had the privilege of learning in both formal and informal settings from teachers, peers and students. She currently serves as a Keybearer in the Covenant of Hekate, which she founded, with others, in 2010. As a polytheist and devotee of Hekate, Sorita has guided many towards both a historical and experiential understanding of the Goddess Hekate. She continues to facilitate the Hekate Symposium and, with Emily Carding, the Torchlit Path (a 9-week creative devotional journey) and remains involved in the Rite of Her Sacred Fires, the annual global devotional rite she penned for Hekate in 2010.

As you would expect from a Sun & Moon Sagittarius, Sorita has travelled all over the world visiting both ancient and modern sacred places, and meeting people from a wide range of spiritual traditions.  She has visited ancient temples and megalithic sites in more than 30 countries around the world, including Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Malta, Italy, Sicily, France, Portugal, Spain, India, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Brazil.  She is fascinated by the communalities in practice and belief passed down from generation to generation across the world, religious conversion and the evolution of tradition.
